Free & open-source Chrome extension

Read the fine print before you click “I agree.”

Caveatly scans a site’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy with AI, flags the clauses that matter, and grades the whole thing A–F — in a few seconds.

How it works

  1. 1

    Finds the legal pages

On any site, Caveatly locates the Terms and Privacy links — HTML or PDF — or notices when you’re already reading one.

  2. 2

    Reads every clause

The policy text goes to Google Gemini with your key. It returns plain-English flags, each with a clause reference and a verbatim quote.

  3. 3

    Grades what it found

Each flag is sorted into three tiers and the report is graded A–F. Nothing hidden behind jargon.

Safe

Reasonable, user-friendly terms — like letting you delete your data at any time.

Caution

Worth knowing — like auto-renewing subscriptions or tracking cookies on by default.

Concern

Read before agreeing — like selling your data or waiving your right to sue.

Private by design

No account, no tracking. The extension sends policy text to Google Gemini using a key you control, plus one anonymous daily usage ping you can switch off.

Install in two minutes
